Terriers on F/X channel

Rating: 4

Directorr:
Created by Ted Griffin (The Shield)

Cast:
Donal Logue (from everything), Michael Raymond-James(first season of true blood), Laura Allen

Stars:

Pretty good detective show on the F/X channel. Its carried by solid acting and writing and the fact that its not a pure procedural and not cookie cutter like all those USA network shows (characters welcome...original story beats not so much).

Donal Logue plays an ex-cop turned private detective . He's a recovering alcoholic that seems to have ended his recovery at just not drinking; He doesn't even care that he's not a licensed detective. He's not to concerned with rejoining society. He has found a partner in Michael Raymond-James, an ex-burglar/thief trying to stay within the law. They have no problems bending or breaking the law if the means justify the ends and they often have to since they constantly take cases that are way over their heads.

The writers are pretty good at not telegraphing every twist and Logue and Raymond-James have good buddy-buddy chemistry. I highly recomend it. The season is half over but you can catch all the back episodes OnDemand.

And............ its cancelled. I guess it never found an audience...... of course I didn't see them market it at ALLLLLL. It really was one of the better cables shows this year. I feel F/X just blew it. At least it got a bit of closure. It really was top notch.

You can catch the entire season on Netflix instant watch. It's worth it. It gets closure but you'll probably be yearning for more.

I saw that. I will check it out next. I just finished band of brothers now im halfway through the pacific. band of brothers was amazing. pacific is alright. its got the same production quality, but not nearly as much talent.

i watched a few episodes. i think its a little grittier as i would expect on FX, but i dont see it as being a major leap above USA. in fact, one of the first things i thought was how it seemed similar to burn notice. definitely has good acting, but the writing i think lacks a little. its got that too convenient thing driving the stories. so much so that its similar to "the good guys" but the good guys wasnt trying to be serious. I think its a good show, its just not approaching sliced bread by any means.
