What does Beta mean and how long will idiotechnica.com be in it?
Beta is a fancy schmancy technical term that means: We do not want to take any responsibility for the quality of our software at this time. Idiotechnica will always be in beta.

Losing My Religion

http://i430.photobucket.com/albums/qq29/arch_artist/NoGod.png A study based on a mathematical model shows that religion is heading towards extinction in 9 countries. I believe that they are implying that if it is socially beneficial to go with the majority and the majority is heading towards a lack of religion then mathematically it will be gone entirely in a given time. The bad news is, the United States isn't on the list. I wonder if this will be like the global market, where the USA is so adamant that they are right, it will be too late to take advantage of the change by the time they realize they are wrong.

Props to Canada for making the list. It's a fine line between godless heathens and lucky bastards.

what caused religion to take hold in this argument works the same way with secular movements. The more people believe or in this cause not believe the more members they attract. My only issue with the data is that it only accounts for the last century in making this assessment. I'd imagine that if they accounted since the time of first civilizations, which is also where you find the emergence of the first organized religions, their results may have looked a bit different. I think saying that religion will cease to exist in some countries may be unrealistic, especially when you account for the current and future state of the world economy and global warming. I think were seeing a huge rise in secular movements but I am not sure if it will lead to a giving up completely of religion.
