What does Beta mean and how long will idiotechnica.com be in it?
Beta is a fancy schmancy technical term that means: We do not want to take any responsibility for the quality of our software at this time. Idiotechnica will always be in beta.

The Economic Times reports on an Australian study that found that a group of people who watched TV for four hours per day had an 80% higher chance of dying from heart disease than a group who watched less than 2 hours of TV per day. The argument being long periods of immobility signiifantly decrease health regardless of how active you are for the rest of your day. The effects were shown even when the study controlled for overall activity and factors such as smoking. Not sure how this translates into computer/internet use but I would assume it works out to about the same.

The challenge: How do nerds keep active while also staying interactive? How can a student or an employee decrease their immobility per day?

this makes me wonder if games focused on fitness (e.g., wii) are a fade or the future? while i am assuming this is purely a result of lack of activity coupled with poor eating habits. with people that spend less time watching tv being more active in general and as suchmore fit and healthy. nonetheless i still wonder if the type of game play or television program watched may influence these effects.
