There seem to be lots of things missing or that just plain don't work.
That's not a question. Its a statement. It's an honest mistake to be sure, but maybe its a sign that you should start spending more time thinking about how you might improve yourself and a little less time nitpicking every little detail of any given website.

Surrogate mother recalls twins a month after birth.

http://www.stay-a-stay-at-home-mom.com/image-files/become-a-gestational-surrogate-04.jpg The title sounds a bit onion-esque, but apparently this is true.

A surrogate mother legally obtained custody of the twins she birthed after learning that the recipient mother was being treated for mental illness.

The interesting part to me is the egg used in the in-vitro fertilization was not the surrogate mothers. (The sperm came from an anonymous male donor.)

Raises the question: who really "owns" the baby in a situation like this?

This is horrible for a number of reasons. Primarily, that the adoptive mother had her children taken away because of treatment for a mental disorder. Would they have been taken away for treatment of a back disorder or a pain disorder? Mental health should be treated like physical health and to take away someone's KIDS because you are getting treated for something wrong with your brain is just absurd and wrong.

if you make a cake and two people supply the ingredients and one the oven and pan. Whose cake is it. You can argue that the people that supplied the ingredients should own the cake. However part of the ingredients were donated by a third party. So now we have one person supplying half the ingredients and one person supplying the oven/pan. Now while the ingredients are important the type of oven used and the pan determine how the cake will develop. The same is true with humans. The womb determines how the ingredients in the cake will be expressed (phenotypic expression: how the genes are being expressed). So what is one to do? We could split up the twins and give one to the surrogate and one to the insane chick and then 13 years from now make a reality show called the Real Life Parent Trap.

I fully support this idea. It would also pay for the kids' tuition.

i think they should force the anonymous male donor to take the kids. he should also get the whatever cake Virginia is talking about. its only fair.
