There seem to be lots of things missing or that just plain don't work.
That's not a question. Its a statement. It's an honest mistake to be sure, but maybe its a sign that you should start spending more time thinking about how you might improve yourself and a little less time nitpicking every little detail of any given website.

Bacteria found thriving beneath Antarctic glacier

Hidden in the bone-chilling dark beneath an Antarctic glacier, a colony of strange bacteria is thriving. Scientists investigating the flow of blood-red water from beneath the glacier discovered the bacteria, which have survived for millions of years, living on sulfur and iron compounds, they report in Friday's edition of the journal Science

im not sure if this is the same instance, but i read something a while back talking about simple life forms that were discovered in extreme cold that werent expected to survive in that environment. the reason they were so interested is because it meant there could be similar life on planets / moons that were previously considered unable to harbor life. might even have been europa they were specifically talking about. I wonder if there is any possibility that any extinction level events left the planet more devoid of life than previously thought and that evolution started over at this much lower level.

Yes! I saw that as well. In fact, there was a special on the Discovery Channel on the extensive work scientists are doing in our polar regions in regards to investigating the similarities between our planet and others. My best guess - until I can spot some journals on this find - is this is a monumental discovery for the very reason you supplied.
