Miley Cyrus voted worst celebrity influence of 2009

I rarely pay attention to the entertainment news section but this headline made me laugh. Worse off, the people who wanted her to win this award was her biggest fan base - preteens and teenagers. This has been a year of unfortunate events for Ms. Cyrus; from mocking Asians to being accused of pole dancing.

Poor Miley, I don't think she got enough credit for her Twitter rap video. It also made me wonder if Britney Spears has ever won this prestigious award. The article mentions that she was second place and Gayfish West earned third place.

since the audience was 9-15 year olds I think this was really viewed as a popularity contest. If the audience were 20-30 year olds, britney would have totally won.

oddly, starting no earlier than this year, she has had some actual impact on my actions. so maybe she is just switching demographics to the "30-40 year old fascinated by WTF activity"group.
