its all new code. in an attempt to make everything a thread. its not all tied together yet, but the pieces are in place. some new features are limited html support for images and links.
Idiotechnica is now alpha, soon to be beta. It is new software meant to replace the ongoing forum of votemeoff.com. the original concept for votemeoff.com has run its course and i have decided to concentrate on a more robust forum system with an easy to use interface. the software running idiotechnica is based on the code from evopsych.com - another project i am partnered on. i hope you enjoy the new system. you can expect to see all the features you still use at vmo and none of the features you dont. also, i dont plan to charge anything and all features will be available to all users. k then. |
There is no English translation for the German word schadenfreude - that small, private rush of glee in response to someone else's misfortune. But everyone recognizes the emotion, even if he or she might not have a word for it (or admit to feeling it). Tabloids have long relied on people's fascination with public failures: moralizing politicians or entitled actresses disgraced for their peccadilloes. And in recent years schadenfreude has become a prime-time staple, with models, boyfriends, parents, overweight people and recovering addicts, among others, routinely humiliated on cable television.
