Long story short: An experiment asked people to judge moral situations. e.g. How wrong is it to have sex with your cousin? How moral is it to drive to work when it is a short walk?  



It turns out that the presence of foul smells and messy decor actually caused people to be more damning of these hypotheticals.        



I guess the lesson is that if you find yourself in court, try not to let one slip, or it could be your last fart as a free man.
