The link does not work but I have read this story now numerous times and each time it pisses me off and this is why.

The keyword here is famous astrologer predicts that extreme moon will wreck havoc on earth, not an an astronomer or a scientist. The only famous astrologer I know is Mrs. Cleo and I would not trust Mrs. Cleo to give me directions to a starbucks let alone information about the weather.

The moon does create an effect via it's gravitational pull on the earth and these effects are strongest during perigee or the time when the moon is closet to the earth however these effects would not cause earthquakes or volcanoes as astrologer Richard Nolle says.

First off the moon is expected to be about 219,965 miles away from Earth, historically this is not even that close.  The moon, on average, is 235,000 miles away from Earth.  The moon being only 15,000 miles closer will cause a lower than usual low tide and a higher than usual high tide around the time of the event and nothing else.

Second many astrologers claim that previous natural disasters have been linked to these "Supermoon events" however the dates do not quite match up, not to mention anyone can claim any sort of event on earth with some astronomical event (e.g., horoscopes). A full moon does not make people behave strangely, it does not cause women to give birth, and it does not turn people into werewolves.
