There seem to be lots of things missing or that just plain don't work.
That's not a question. Its a statement. It's an honest mistake to be sure, but maybe its a sign that you should start spending more time thinking about how you might improve yourself and a little less time nitpicking every little detail of any given website.

i don't get why it was unexpected - it's a great album and it was nominated.

The band isn't as well received in the states as it is everywhere else because Americans have a deep fascination with shit music.

For the record I love The Arcade Fire but I don't think The Suburbs is anything special.  Especially when compared to the greatness of Funeral.  It's nice to see them get recognized anyway.

it's not an 'american' thing - most pop music is pretty crappy anywhere in the world. my point is, the award for album of the year has traditionally gone to well respected artists - there are no britney spears type winners (unless you count last year's taylor swift victory)

now, i haven't heard every album nominated this year - but i would suggest that it's a pathetic list of nominees - katy perry, lady gaga, and eminem?! (wtf is a lady antebellum?) i would suggest that arcade fire are more akin to previous winners of the awaard than the first three competitors they had - that's why i don't get the surprise.

also, i think the suburbs is fantastic - not quite up there with funeral, but nonetheless a terrifc listen start to finish.

I tend to skip to "We Used To Wait" and then I'm done.

I completely agree and would like to add that the suburbs music video could have been better though it was ok.

while i don't think there's any lyrical genius in it, i do fancy the slow build up.
