here are the pictures V and I took.

The one time it rains for multiple days in a row here in Santa Barbara happened to be during that. Mother nature can be an asshole.

I went out too late :( And it was soooo coldddd. And I don't have a tripod, so this was the best I could do.

im jealous of your stars.

when the moon was in full eclipse we could only see maybe a handful of stars around it.

that does suck. i hate cold fronts, but the one good thing about them is they clear the clouds out of the night sky.

of course, i ended up buying a zoom lens two days later... but to be honest, i don't really see it as being any more or less relevant than any other lunar eclipse - the fact that it coincided with the shortest day of the year was just one of those silly things scientists like to throw out there to get the general public interested.
