In this thread, post your goals for September.

Inspired by the strange yet dedicated Neville Medhora, I have decided to try harder at setting concrete goals each month.   It will be fun!

My goals for September:

- work out 5 days / week.

- learn & memorize 3 violin scales by end of September.

- 5 nights of the week I should get at least 6 hours of sleep.

- Bring a lunch to work at least 4 days per week.

- Caffeine intake limited to 2 days per week.

m1nr:
1. Have a birthday
2. Begin hardcore work outs
3. Find a new job
4. Save money
5. Go to soccer games and rage with supporters
6. Make new friends
7. Give my mom a special 50th bday

How has everyone been doing on their list?

1. Had a birthday
2. Haven't started workouts again (I'm off tomorrow and decided I'll be active then)
3. I might be moving to Chicago (by mid Oct), so either transfer or find a new job
4. Eh. I'm actually going to start selling a lot of my possessions on ebay to fund this journey if it pans out.
5. Gone to a lot. Got interviewed by Philly Daily news and made it on the Philly Union website (my avatar)
6. Made a lot of friends in Philly... this might be better for Oct.
7. Her bday is Sept 28th, but we already surprised her and I gave her a gift. I was going to make her a "Where are you now?" bored that allows each person in the house to change their status (ie. work, school, store, ny etc.) but it seems a bit irrelevant now.

My goals for September:

- work out 5 days / week.  Failing miserably at this goal. Though I have increased my exercise rate, I still have yet to hit a full 5 day week.

- learn & memorize 3 violin scales by end of September.  I have pretty much given up on this goal, but I have increased my overall playing.

- 5 nights of the week I should get at least 6 hours of sleep. I have been going to bed with the intention of getting 6 hours of sleep; but I still cannot succesfully fall asleep in time to get the full 6.  I have improved a lot though.

- Bring a lunch to work at least 4 days per week. Still struggling with this one, but this reminds me I should make a lunch for tomorrow.

- Caffeine intake limited to 2 days per week.  This goal I have succeeded at.  Many weeks I will not have any caffeine at all.  The next 2 weeks will probably not be as healthy though, since school is about to kick my ass.

Even though I have mostly failed in my attempts, the practice of setting goals has definitely encouraged improvement.  I think next month I might have to tweak some of these but I still vow to try.

Improvements are good. And it's always good to be reminded of those you've set because I'm sure life always gets in the way... you just need a good reminder or motivation sometimes.
