Valve confirms Portal 2

I enjoyed futzing around with the first Portal. i made it through a handful of levels before i decided its a fun game for someone else. while i didn't find it all that fun, ill allow that it was conceptually original. i'll probably check out any demos offered to see if the sequel improves on overall funability.

the first one was awesome! The first third of the game though was semi mindless. you really had to get half way though and beyond to get to levels that made you think a bit and challenge your hand/eye coordination during time constraints. And the simple story was enhanced by the snarky comments from the computer. And who wouldnt want cake instead of a trophy?

Can't wait for 2.

yeah the computers comments were amusing. i think i got to where the maps were testing coordination. the game switched from knowing what needs to be done to being able to do what you know needs to be done.  i think thats the point at which it wasnt worth the investment to me anymore. probably says something about me.

Portal was pretty awesome. After getting through the main levels, the Advanced ones got really intense, as did the ones where you had to complete the levels in the fewest portals. There's also a whole subculture of people who worship the companion cube...I'll be looking forward to Portal 2 as well

Wait, did you not even get to "the part"?   Dude, Portal takes a few hours to complete. You owe it to yourself.

i took your suggestion and loaded up portal and played it through to the end. it was more fun than i remember.  i guess once i was determined to beat it and i forced myself to learn the quirky controls it was less annoying.

i dont know what part you were talking about.

i enjoyed the song the computer sings at the end.

Still super excited for Portal 2.

Apparently if you buy the PS3 version you get the Steam version for free, and and there will be PS3/PC cross platform co-op! That's pretty exciting!

The "part" was when the computer "Glados" tries to incinerate you and you spend the rest of the game going in and out of the walls of the complex.   So awesome!

I'll take my chances when I really need it. Did you play through Dead Space yet? I started over and I'm about half way through, which is farther than I went the first time.

ralph and i played through deadspace 2 when he was visiting. the graphics were awesome and the story was cool but the levels got really really really really repetative.

i havent put deadspace 1 back in.
