manic:
i wasn't a huge vampire weekend fan before, but i liked a couple songs off their earlier album, and thought they had an interesting sound.
i think they pretty much did annoying drugs the whole time they were making this album. we got it at work just before it came out, and popping it on was almost painful. its completely erratic and doesnt flow at all the way an album should, not to mention the fact that the slight change in the sound isn't playing in their favor.
Honestly, I've got to say that Vampire Weekend's first album is on my top 10 favorite albums list.. I love that album. I see what you're saying about their most recent. especially with California English. When that track first came on, I thought it was skipping. Then I listened to that same song downloaded with these Indie playlists that I download and it was the same. I do like some. I like Taxi Cab and Holiday. I guess the whole point of music is to constantly make music YOU love and always try to make something original. They succeeded in that.
