Does anyone listen to Vampire Weekend here?

What do you think of their new album, Contra?

Not exactly sure about my final verdict. It seems to be growing on me, but I didn't have that initial love for the album like I did for their self-titled one.

i wasn't a huge vampire weekend fan before, but i liked a couple songs off their earlier album, and thought they had an interesting sound.

i think they pretty much did annoying drugs the whole time they were making this album. we got it at work just before it came out, and popping it on was almost painful. its completely erratic and doesnt flow at all the way an album should, not to mention the fact that the slight change in the sound isn't playing in their favor.

Honestly, I've got to say that Vampire Weekend's first album is on my top 10 favorite albums list.. I love that album. I see what you're saying about their most recent. especially with California English. When that track first came on, I thought it was skipping. Then I listened to that same song downloaded with these Indie playlists that I download and it was the same. I do like some. I like Taxi Cab and Holiday. I guess the whole point of music is to constantly make music YOU love and always try to make something original. They succeeded in that.

You both should check out this song that The Very Best did with the lead singer of Vampire Weekend... I can't remember what it's called exactly.. Something about the heart of Africa. I like that one!

Does anyone have any indie bands they'd like to share? I'm looking for some new tunes. I spend too much time travelling on the bus or driving.

Here are some bands I have been listening lately to that are pretty good:
Miike Snow
Phoenix
Florence & The Machine
Closure in Moscow
Crystal Castles
Airborne Toxic Event
Anya Marina

I have also been listening to a lot of The Knife, but that was already suggested. These aren't all "indie", but whatever.
