Authorities say the girl and her mother were shopping on Aug. 31, when the toddler began crying. The police report says Stephens approached the mother and said, "If you don't shut that baby up, I will shut her up for you."

Authorities say Stephens then slapped her four or five times.

I'd probably have slapped him for his initial statement.

more parents need to actually take their crying children out of places.
or you know, teach them to behave.
they learn real quick when you tell them to stop or you're leaving, AND THEN YOU LEAVE WHEN THEY DONT. only takes a couple times.

just because, as a parent, you can tune it out, doesn't mean its not annoying the shit out of everyone around you.

he should have hit the parent though, not the kid.
the kid probably would have started laughing. 2 year olds love physical humor, as long as its not being enacted on them.
