Si!!!! Te juro que nunca he visto efectos especiales tan increibles. Lo que mas me gusto fue que la historia tiene elementos de espiritualidad y humanidad - no solamente accion y aventura. Excelente Pelicula!!!

HMMMMmmmm....Avatar.... let me count the ways I love you.....1....... ok just 1. Like every James Cameron film, Avatar takes special effects cinema to a new level, but if you are expecting revolutionary science fiction story, you won't find it here. In fact Avatar canablizes some of its characters and plot devices from other James Cameron movies. There is no arguing though that this is a spectacle best viewed in theaters, in 3D, and in IMAX if you're in the vacinity. Its a decent story, good enough to carry the ludicrous number of effects shots, and certainly a fun time. SEE IT. 3.5 stars. 3 for story, .5 for effects.

lmao @ fern gully - also heavily mined the pocahontas story the visuals were cool but didn't overpower the lameness of the script.

the 2 movies i'd compare it to in terms of science fiction plot/wow factor:

district 9 - way lower budget, way better storyline.
jurassic park - way bigger wow factor upon first seeing giant fucking dinos (granted, i was a teeny kid) but also way better score. the music in avatar was so easily forgettable - sounded like a peruvian flute band, muchachos.

Flavia mentioned that it sounded too much like titanic. (same composer). I did'nt really have that problem, but this movie did suffer from the music, as have a lot of movies lately. The music in recent movies just has NOT complemented whats on screen at all; sometimes its overly dramatic, sometimes totally out of character. It's constantly reminding me that I'm watching a movie and thats not a good thing.

I have not seen the movie yet but apparently the vatican is calling it "sentimental hokum" with "plenty of stupefying, enchanting technology, but few genuine human emotions."Also blasted it for "winking at the pseudo-doctrines that have madeecology the religion of the millennium."

Oh the irony
