Posts: General / Going Away Party for Marty

I'm throwing a party for marty in KY the week before Christmas, it's going to be huge because his family is enormous. We're renting a hall and I'm positive at least 40-50 people will show up not including the children. I'm wondering if you cool cats could help me come up withsome ideas. This is what I have thus far:

1. "Camo" cake
2. Red, white and blue decor.
3. Ordering invitations: http://www.perilight.com/.../index.html
4. Potluck, everyone brings their favorite dish.
5. Little Army men toys on each table. hehe It will also help keep the kids occupied.
6. Buying a lot of posterboard for the kids in the family to make going away messages and drawings to Marty, putting them up on the walls.
7. "Wish You Well Marty!" banner for him.
8. Having everyone stand up for a toast and each person supply a favorite/funny memory with Marty. His mother will probably start bawling at this point, she's very emotional.

Is "camo" cake literally camouflaged cake? If so, awesome! I'm sure he can't wait to miss it!
