There seem to be lots of things missing or that just plain don't work.
That's not a question. Its a statement. It's an honest mistake to be sure, but maybe its a sign that you should start spending more time thinking about how you might improve yourself and a little less time nitpicking every little detail of any given website.

Weaving: My favorite thing
11/18/09 02:47 AM

If you don't know that I love weaving then either you're extraordinarily unobservant or you don't know who I am. So the story goes like this: I was in the library, perusing the weaving books when I come upon this fucking SWEET poncho/ blanket, coat thing. I stared at it for about 3 seconds, speed-walked to the check-out, and started setting up my loom.
Let me tell you, setting this baby up was NO easy task. The pattern called for 48 inches wide but I decided 42 would be sufficient. Because I am lazy and bad at checking things, the loom I set up on maxed out at 40 inches. So the thing will be a little small. Aside from that, the set-up took... I'd say 10 hours. Here is a picture when I was about 2/3rds finished

Okay, here is the loom once I got it set up and started weaving

This project is huge. I have never woven on anything this large and decidedly, do not like it as much as smaller items.

I cannot wait to show off my final piece to you fuckers

As a middle-aged republican in a low socio-economic class, I cannot support or indeed, even tolerate the existence of, any sort of loomery or things of a sartorial nature. Nudity is also a sin. Quote harumph endquote.

I have no idea who this is or what this even means but I whole-heartedly approve. (except for the republican part).

A few points:

- this is a pretty cool and unique skill.
- I had no idea there was so much trash talk in loom
- how did you even find all of this stuff
- this has reminded me to catch up on one of my favourite science blogs: Carl Zimmer's "The Loom" at http://scienceblogs.com/loom/

Carl Zimmer is the man. Fish with fingers whales with legs was one of my first books on evolution. Also Parasite Rex is really good although I have not gotten through the whole book yet.

I do not think I have read The Loom before but will have to check it on Discovery. He mentioned he would be working with Phil Plait the Bad Astronomy. He is entertaining informer I meet him at TAM6 a few years ago. He gave a good talk on basically all of the crazy things that happen in space that we have no explanation for and how that still does not validate believing in the supernatural.

It is one of my classes. I can use the large floor looms at school for a mere 4 more months! Then I must adjust to my own lowly rigid heddle loom.
